I too just encountered this buyer. She is requesting that I send the textbook I sold her via media mail and refund her the difference. Same user name as mentioned above- cbsnews Barbara Alexander.

Her new email is barbalexander@outlook.com - she is going by "cbsnews" and just purchased a book from me. I had never heard of her. She listed the following:

I am also dealing with this person. She is using cbsnews ID. She is also requesting that I ship using media mail and even gave me the prices of how much it would cost and requested a refund of the difference. After reading all of these posts I am very hesitant on wanting to do so. I think I am going to contact ebay and see what I can do.

They're still at it- they purchased one of my textbooks from last semester and then asked for me to send it to them via Media Mail -and to refund them part of the cost for shipping (the difference) in CASH along with the book. I thought that was suspicious, but so was the different name attached to the paypal account. So I googled. After a lengthy conversation with eBay and my husband, and after seeing this and this: http://badbuyerlist.org/buyer/3631bc03d9e32129ff0e , I decided to refund their money and cancel the sale. As a new seller on eBay, I don't really want to risk losing my money on a scam artist. Thankfully, I'm good at the internet and looked them up first.

eBay user name is currently "instagood". Here is the exact message they sent to me AFTER the auction ended:

"Hi. I just paid for the auction. I was wondering if you could ship this book via Media Mail (book rate) from the post office in order to save me on shipping charges? Media Mail is relatively cheap at $2.69 for the first pound and $.48 for each additional pound.

Media Mail is one of the options when you print your shipping label through eBay and if not, you can just ask for it when you mail it at the post office. If you do print the shipping label through the eBay site you get a reduced price of $.20 for the tracking number.

If you are able to ship by Media Mail could you please refund the overage amount I paid you for the priority mail? You can do this by either putting the cash on the inside of the book (which may be the easiest) or refund through paypal by clicking on my transaction in your paypal account and then clicking on something like “process a refund” which will let you enter in the amount. Thanks. I really appreciate it!"

I have dealt with this person. Always got paid but I also had the problem where he/she tells me what the postage should cost and then ask for the difference between the actual postage cost and what I charge for shipping. Yeah, envelopes and tape are free. Nurse Kruger likes to buy current textbooks in auction format and will snipe at the last second
