They tried to buy an item off me from Etsy. Had excuses why they didn't want to pay through Etsy, and the English was bad, so I Googled the phone number and found your post and others. Thanks for your post. Confirmed what I already knew!

I got scammed by her. I thought a cashiers check was guaranteed and thought it cleared. Lost several hundred dollars. She deleted her Etsy and is still acting like she is clueless as to the check being fraudulent. Can’t believe I fell for it.

Goes by name Linda or Lisa or Sandberg

Just had her try to scam me as well on my Etsy shop as Linda

Yes contacted me using Linda Sandberg had them send the check then turned it over along with address in was sent from to local bank for them to investigate. Didn't get anything from me but hope what I got from them will help find who they are!

Thank you all so very much! Was trying to do the same to me under the name Linda Sandberg. Story and excuses kept getting longer and more varied. Shipped nothing and did not send them any money.

This person tried to cheat me by trying to buy a small item with a large fake cashier's check and ask me to send back the money for the difference.

She's trying to buy from me now too. Insists on an email address so she can contact me directly. Seemed fishy right off the bat. Googled her number and found this post. THANK YOU!

She is on Etsy by that phone number posing as “Rachel”, trying to get me off Etsy to deal.

Looking into how to report to Etsy.

Same number and the person name is Rachel. She wants my email address and she would like for me to text her. She would like to talk to me regarding my painting. I basically told her how to purchase my painting step by step on Etsy. If it smells like a scam....it’s a scam!!!

I just had this conversation with the same person:
Scammer: Hello! We are interested in this painting. Pls provide an email to reach you instead?
Me: No. I'm sorry.that would violate Etsy's seller policies. Please message here if you have further questions. Thank you.
Scammer: Hello again!
I apologize but I don't have this come to my phone. I'll just need an email to reach you directly? If you would rather text me, my cell phone number is ‪814 713-1562. Thanks
Me: It's for sale. You can purchase via Etsy. I don't communicate or conduct business outside of etsy for items I have listed here. This is in accordance with Etsy's seller policies.

The same situtaion litarally just happened to me! She said the same exact thing word for word. She went under the name Rachel. I'm going to say the same thing you did to her. Thank you everyone for sharing! I'm sure you have saved me a lot of trouble.

Yup, Rachel messaged my etsy late last night and insisted I email then sent me this cell number. This person is seriously relentless

"Rachel" messaged me via Etsy as well with the exact same message. Second message contained the exact same phone number as above. thanks for posting and saving me some headaches!

Thank you all for posting to this thread. I am so glad it has been helpful and saved a few people some headaches, frustration and money! I wish law enforecement was more interested in scammers. I forwarded all this scammer's info to the police dept in Beaver Falls, PA

Exact same "Rachel" scam for me. Word for word, copy and paste scam. Probably a group and not just a person

I am soooo glad I found this report! I am new to Esty & was excited to have sold a painting!!! BUT thank God, an angel working at Walmart educated me on this type of scam! I got the money order back from my bank ASAP & stopped the emails from Rachel Wein ( or whatever she goes by)!! I am heartbroken that I didn't sell my art..so excited to think I did!! Oh well...lesson learned!! Thanks! I will be reporting them to FEDS!!
