Fraudulent check payment by buyer. Buyer purchased Mercedes from me on ebay. Made immediate contact so seemed genuine. When asked to attend to PayPal deposit, he asked if he could simply pay the entire amount by bank wire the next day. Against my better judgement, I agreed. He subsequently advised that doing the wire was going to be difficult so he would send a check (starting to get fishy). He mails the check and the check subsequently bounces as it is from a NON-existent account. Car was never shipped, so no "item loss" but cost me 3 weeks in a very active market window. Buyer refused to reply to any emails or phone calls
