Details: | SCAM BUYER!! I listed an expensive Cisco switch and this buyer bought it. Before shipping the switch, I looked at his feedback. His received feedback (from being a buyer) looks great. But if you look at feedback he's given, red flags go off as he's given (more than average) a lot of negative feedback. There IS a reason for this. Anyway, we shipped a perfectly working Cisco switch - I've personally been using it for over 2 years with zero issues whatsoever. I packed it with 8-10 layers of bubble wrap and insured it. 29 days later, he submits a return request stating that the switch is DOA. I've been selling on eBay since the late 90's and ANYTIME a buyer has a legit problem, I bend over backwards to correct the issue. But if a buyer submits a false return request (this is only the second time for me), it needs to be fought. So the buyer sends back some sort of Frankenstein switch that is completely useless and is requesting a $1,500 refund. Before I submitted a refund, I asked the buyer if perhaps, someone made a mistake by shipping back the wrong item. He does respond with a couple weird responses but nothing more. I contacted eBay and they were able to assist. I feel back for eBay because they did refund the buyer out of some contingency account - but importantly, I didn't have to issue a refund. It's buyers like that that force eBay to raise selling fees/rates. By the way, this buyer has been reported to the FBI as well. If others also report him to the FBI, perhaps the FBI will further look into him. |
