I ended my auction because another eBay member had kindly let me know that the edit I had made to my auction, was very hard to see, so suggested I re-listed the item with a more accurate description. They also let me know that my item is actually a rare and expensive item (I didn’t know this when I listed it) so I did some research on it. I re-listed my item (which I had to pay fees to end) and started it at a very reasonable price, (a lot less than the bids were when I ended it!) When I checked my inbox, I had received 4 angry and abusive messages from this member claiming I am abusing eBay’s re-listing policies, which I clearly wasn’t and let eBay know exactly what had happened, they said it was following their policy, and was fine! Shaymccann claimed they were the highest bidder on the item, they weren’t they had been outbid long before I ended the auction, anyway they threatened me that if I was not to sell the item to them then they would report me to eBay. Psycho?! I told them that I did not like their disrespectful behaviour, so blocked them from purchasing any of my items. Of course this sparked a very childish response, which got me crying with laughter. I thought I would share this experience on here, so people can steer clear of this rather unusual member and avoid being treated in this way.
I did get a very polite message from one member and of course thanked them for acting like a human rather than an animal! Their response made me smile, she said ‘it is very unfortunate that some eBay members react in such a rude and inappropriate manner but in my experience, as in life, there are far more nice, friendly people around than the other kind.’ – So true. |
