The description stated (in part):

"Good condition. Some very light scratches on screen, unnoticeable during use (see pictures). Blemish in top right corner (see pictures). Does not affect screen. Includes original Apple leather case, with some lower pieces missing (see pictures)"

The listing also contained 8 high resolution photos showing the condition of the phone and case from all sides.

Buyer with only 1 prior ebay feedback bought the item with Buy It Now.

After receiving the item, buyer opened eBay Not As Described case # 5148714310. Transcript of communications was:

Buyer: I would like a refund

Me: Hi - can you please describe how you think it doesn’t match the description or photos? I included many high resolution photos and a detailed description, and tried hard to accurately represent the condition. Thanks.

Buyer: I just want my refund I will be happy to send you the phone back, point blank period

Me: Hi - so you’re not actually saying it doesn’t match the description or photos? Instead, you’ve just changed your mind, and want to ship it back to to me? Let me know - thanks!

Buyer: Ok if can you just refund my money and then I will gladly ship it back to you

Me: Hi - I’m sorry to keep asking, but you still haven’t said why you want to return the phone. Can you please state the reason you want to return the phone. Did you just change your mind? Thanks.

Buyer: Sorry about that I just changed my mind about it

eBay closed the case in my favor, stating "We reviewed this case and have closed it without any refund to the buyer. The case will not affect your seller performance. This item isn't covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.". This was because buyer opened a false Not As Described case, but the reason was actually buyers remorse.

Buyer then opened then immediately escalated a SNAD claim through PayPal, claiming it was "All cracked up". PayPal asked for evidence from me, which I provided per above. PayPal found in favor of the buyer. When I called them to find out why, they said that they had not asked the buyer for any proof. Their reasoning was that the buyer had a history of filing chargebacks through PayPal, so they wanted him to return the phone to me to close off his ability to do another chargeback. They said he would have to return it at his expense.

Buyer returned the phone, but now with a cracked screen. I videoed myself opening the package and posted it to YouTube. I then appealed the case with PayPal. They required me to go to the Apple Store to get third-party verification of the damage, which I provided to them. They then offered the option to give the buyer a partial refund, which would not even cover the cost of the screen he damaged. I refused. They then gave me a full refund.

I eventually got my money back from PayPal, but the whole process took almost 2 months and many hours of my time. Avoid this buyer.
