As with software, once you open it, its yours. They want to make an illegal copy and then return it. You should have policies that clearly state that you have no returns for open items. If they want to return an open item, make it perfectly clear to them and make up some bullshit thing that says once the item is played it sends the serial number to the company and if she makes a copy you will have her brought up on charges of copyright
