Details: | The fire had purchased a brand-new open box brushed brass faucet from me. About a week and a half after receiving it he opened the return claiming it didn't match his kitchen. He stated that it was never installed and would be returned like new. When I received the faucet back, when I removed it from the plastic to check the condition I noticed water coming out of it. Upon closer inspection I noticed at the end of the spout had limey calcium residue from quite a while's use on it. I also noticed scratches on the spout. In addition, when comparing the end of the spout to the photos that I had of the faucet and comparing to other users listings that were used of the same item, I quickly discovered when he had sent me back was not only used, but it was an older model. I messaging the buyer showing him pictures of what I received back and establishing that he had not sent me the same brand-new faucet, the buyer denied it and repeated his initial claims. Of course you eBay policies I can only withhold half of the money from the original purchase price when refunding which means I'll have to eat the other half of the purchase price. So he sent me back a use item that probably didn't work that I could not resell for anything and the accessories that were still sealed in the original plastic were worth almost nothing and not worth the trouble to resell. Of course when he found out he only received half of his money as a refund the opened a case with eBay repeating his initial claims. As usual eBay claimed I was in the right but refund all of his money at their expense. Obviously I was still out half of the money the original sale. This is a common practice on eBay but I'm not here to complain about their policies. The buyer gets away with defrauding the seller and the screen going to do it again and again and again. |
