Details: | TLDR; Buyer knowingly bought a cosmetically damaged laptop for parts, claimed it arrived damaged but repeatedly refused to describe the damage, refused to return the item, and lied to eBay repeatedly about problems with the return shipping labels until they were refunded without returning the laptop. Buyer bought a damaged laptop for parts. 8 days after receiving item, filed an "Arrived Damaged" claim. Buyer refused to describe the damage or provide photos. I accepted the return and eBay provided a return shipping label. Buyer refused to use it, claiming it was not sufficient. Buyer refused to provide any information on whether they intended to use the original box or a different one (important information if I were to provide another label). I provided a second prepaid label that would cover an item twice the size and weight. Buyer had until Mar 22 to return the item. On Mar 21, buyer contacted eBay claiming the return label was not good enough. eBay extended the case, asking me to provide a third shipping label sufficient for the weight of the laptop. I contacted eBay, they reviewed the 2nd label I provided, and verified it was appropriate. They filed a "forced return" and gave the buyer 7 more days to return the item. On the 7th day, the buyer again called and said the weight was not enough (15 pounds for a 13" MacBook Pro!). eBay again held the case, and then again verified that the label I provided was sufficient, and then closed the case in my favor. Buyer called back to appeal, falsely claimed I had promised a refund without needing a return, and eBay reversed the case and refunded them. |
