Tell them to stick it up you know were. There was nothing wrong with the item. they wanted to see what you'd do - if you would give them the product for free. The fact is if there was something wrong with it, they wouldnt of kept it. They were trying to play the game, "the customer is always right". At Applebees, you want the food for free, the only thing you have to do is complain about the food, and without even Applebees saying anything they get it for free. its the same thing!
