Why did you give him credit? They are suppose to pay first and ship second.

1) Stupidity
2) Trust
3) Convince
Due to the size of the item, I had to custom make a box to minimize shipping costs (to help the buyer out) and therefore had to go the post office to find shipping price. I was also shipping many items and wanted to make one trip to post office instead of multiple trips.
I trusted that the buyer would pay as he had a very good rating. I was trusting and wanted to get the item to the buyer as quickly as possible. In the end, it turned out to be stupid.

Oh I know, stinks doesn't it? I recently had a buyer adamantly insist shipping should cost X. I trusted them because I was super busy at that moment and thought, oh hey just this once it'll be ok to trust someone. They messaged me several times to reduce shipping but ignored me when I mentioned they were off by $5. Gotta be careful with shipping. Buyers will be irritated if you overcharge by 50 cents, and wont say a thing if you undercharge them 5 - 10 dollars! I recommend buying a cheap postal scale, it's helped us a ton. We use the USPS.com postage calculator. Good luck in the future!
