First you should consider that PayPal was the one that fucked you over. Did you file a complaint with PayPal with pictures and you should (1) take pictures of anything over $50 of value, and (2) when you get a return open it up infront of a USPS employee so they can witness the claims you make against the cunt.
If your in the UK you have to do the same type as we described for the US. If you stated it that the item was ripped or damaged, you should of been able to appeal the decision with pictures. You should also consider insurance on the packages you ship and then use that insurance to pay yourself the damages. at least your covered that way.
