Details: | Ordered a custom built to order part which has a 4-8 week lead time and is clearly stated as non-returnable, not able to be cancelled once in production. Then emailed to cancel the day we sent tracking information. We agreed to allow him to cancel with a 20% restocking fee to cover the material cost for his custom product and he agreed... then filed a charge-back 2 weeks later after we paid not only to initially ship it but also to turn it around! Worse still, after he placed the order we called him to make sure he was OK to wait and he said no problem, he was not in any hurry and he was willing to wait then proceeded to waste over 2 hours of our top technicians time to obtain information for his custom project. |

I filed a chargeback due to not getting replies to my emails about the status. It is an all out lie that it was shipped out, even in our email correspondence he said the kit wasn't even done at the time I filed the chargeback and would be shipped out later. You shouldn't attempt to slander me for your poor business practices.

If I could post a screenshot I would. Every communication is logged; longest reply delay was 4 days including Sat/Sun. Buyer has complete lack of personal accountability. Did not abide by the terms clearly stated in BOTH the item description AND the "Terms and Conditions" popup that MUST be agreed to on checkout. Both lead times and non-returnable policy on CUSTOM PARTS is clear. Despite that, we were willing to help him return with 20% restock for our expenses. Details: Ordered 3/24/16 - $846.26, refunded 05/17/16 - $687.26 (due to 20% re-stock)... note the dates - under 4 weeks despite a 4-8 week lead time, buyer files chargeback 06/01/16. We had informed him by phone and email that there would a restock before we issued the refund and he agreed to it. Despite all that, EVEN IF his claim that the item had not shipped were true (which it had), that still would not excuse failure to abide by terms he agreed to both online and in several post order follow ups and to the restock!

Actually, I can share a screen shot on Photobucket. Here is a shot directly from our payment processor...

Now we have wasted even more time on this guy so I think we will just leave it at that and sellers can decide if our side of the story and our screen shot evidence is or isn't enough to justify their risk in a transaction with this buyer.

How's this for a screen shot. You saying the kit wasn't done at the time I filed the charge back. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w295/wingnut3k/1C8D4B86-D233-42BC-AC6C-4057A2D17265.png

Just to waste some more time, here's a screenshot of my response saying to not ship it out http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w295/wingnut3k/55B42DB6-5447-45A2-A754-99C3D633A300.png

Your Custom kit was boxed, on the bottom (due to weight) of a pallet in our warehouse, waiting for the next trailer, we sent you the tracking but it had not left. It was less costly to let it go out and turn it around than to find that pallet, unload, remove box, re-load pallet, cancel label, fix master label. So yes, you said don't ship it but that was not practical. We issued you a refund BEFORE you filed the dispute for the agreed upon re-stock fee. As for the email, yes we missed ONE and I admitted that we overlooked 1 of 23 emails in the chain wherein we spent HOURS helping you plan your project (plus phone time, all free), and I apologized for that oversight. In your screenshot above, you say "twice as long" but the lead time was 4-8 weeks and you wanted to cancel at 6! Bottom line: You agreed to a 4 to 8 week lead time, changed your mind at 6 weeks; you agreed to the re-stock, we refunded you, then you filed a chargeback for it; screenshots support these facts, yours included.

I never received any tracking information. If you sent it you should be able to come up with a number. Finishing and shipping the kit never happened prior to my initiation of a chargeback. Why would you tell me the kit would be finished and shipped that week if it had already shipped; a story that has continually changed after the fact. It's interesting that your response time in this public forum is so much more expedient than your response to my emails. Your launching a personal attack against a customer who simply wanted to part ways after your lack of service speaks for itself.

I will try to make it easier for you to understand: boxed, palletized, ready to go in next trailer, impractical to remove. NO, it hadn't left the loading dock prior to refund, YES it went out and YES we turned it around at our cost because that was the less costly option (time is money). No change in our story. Your attempt(s) to justify a lack of complying with the terms you agreed to is the only thing awry here. You said "double the time" but you requested AND RECEIVED a refund at 6 weeks for a custom product that has a clearly stated 4 to 8 week handling time. Clearly not 2x the time, but perfectly in the middle! You also agreed to a re-stock AND the non-returnable nature of a custom product, yet we went out of our way to accommodate you! You never address these inconvenient truths in your replies here when you attempt to justify yourself. As for the replies now, indeed we have been able to hire more people thanks to a NEW US President (YAY!), your order was 2 years ago after all!

I admittedly did make a mistake in one of my first replies above, it was closer to 6 weeks when you requested and received a refund (less specified re-stock) and I had said under 4 weeks in that reply BUT I did specify the dates accurately in that sentence (3/24 order, 5/17 refund), just not the correct number of weeks that equated to. Still, 6 weeks is less than the up to 8 week lead time so the story is still not changed despite your assertion, I simply made a typo.

To quote your email to me on the day after I filed the chargeback "The kit is just about done" I honestly don't believe you when you say that it was boxed. I don't think it was ever even started, which is the reason I wanted out. You should look back at your emails because your responses here don't line up with what you said there.

I didn't physically go over to the fab shop (another building across the street) to check to see the EXACT status of your order when I wrote the emails. I checked our internal production schedule and it said your order was to be packed and shipped that week which is what I told you. Regardless of what you do or don't believe or the fabrication process on a custom order (material pick, cut, bend, weld, clean, inspect, pack, label, palletize, carrier pickup), when you said you wanted to cancel due to your exaggerated "twice as long" theory, I went ahead and issued a refund (despite the non-refundable status) but with a re-stock per the terms and conditions to cover at least SOME of the material used. We were still well within the timeline as it was only at 6 weeks BUT we obliged your request and yet you still filed a chargeback for the re-stock! Your non-compliance with the terms and conditions because you decided you didn't want to pay a re-stock is why you were reported here.
