How is he having the package redirected? If he calls FedEx and he's not the account holder of the shipping account, then its FedEx's problem for doing it without authorization. Id post their full address to warn everyone about it.

That is a common scam. The thief will enter the correct billing address and also put that address for the ship to. The seller will ship it no matter how much the item costs, believing they are protected by shipping to the billing address. Then the thief calls UPS or Fedex and has it redirected elsewhere. Happens all the time.
