Buyer purchased a kiss-lock wallet on Mercari in gently used condition. Minor signs of use (all cosmetic), but no damage. We even took a picture of the wallet standing on its own to shown that the clasp worked. This buyer filed for a return stating that the clasp was damaged. All of the pictures she submitted are tight partials of her holding the wallet open (no shot of the wallet by itself) and one close up on the clasp while the wallet is opened. I’m flabbergasted (and yet not) by such sloppy abuse of Mercari’s return system. It is a shame when buyers abuse the system because they have a change of heart or realize they shouldn’t have made a purchase due to finances. They don’t seem to realize they are wasting the time of both the seller and the app. Unless she herself breaks the kiss-lock it is in good working condition. Hopefully I will not be forced to file a counter claim.
