Details: | This buyer lies... and lies, and lies some more. Harassed me via eBay messages fishing for a discount by saying that the item I sent her wasn't as described. The item I was selling was an American Girl Bitty Twin stroller. First she sent me a "sob story" message saying that her daughter lost her AG stroller in Hurricane Sandy and because of this she bid higher than she wanted on the item and asked us for free shipping. Since this is a larger item (and I was already shipping it USPS Parcel Select -- the cheapest shipping option in the US) I politely told her that, unfortunately, I cannot do any better on shipping and I really can't lose any money on the item since it didn't sell for that much. Also, it is against eBay policy to even ask for discounts after the item has ended. I may have been a little more accommodating but I just had a feeling she wasn't being honest with me. She didn't pay for a few days and I considered opening up an Unpaid Item case but I always give buyers a few extra days to pay (I understand that some people forget or are away). I did the same for her. She eventually paid and the item was packed and shipped out the next day. She sent me a message after she received the item saying that the item was in "bad condition". She claimed that I didn't properly describe the item. She claimed there were cosmetic blemishes (i.e. stains) that she was not aware of when she bid on the item. I included very detailed photos and close up shots of the cosmetic blemishes. They were all very obvious. And she had been directly aware of the stains before the auction ended because she sent me a message asking about the condition of the fabric and I told her there were no rips but there were some stains (and told her, again, to please view the photos). Then she claimed that she was expecting the item to be nearly new even though the item was listed in USED condition (not New, not New Other). After responding to that, she sent several more messages claiming the item wasn't as described and her story changed numerous times. I became even more suspicious that this stroller was not even for her supposed "daughter". I did some more research. This stroller was retired in 2006... 7 years ago. I don't know any child that plays with the same toys for 7 years, especially not baby dolls. Then I went back to the Paypal confirmation email from her transaction to get more of her information. Saw her email address -- agtrader516. agtrader... AMERICAN GIRL TRADER. As I had suspected, she is a trader that was looking for a discount so that she could resell it to make as much money as possible. There was no daughter who "lost her stroller in Sandy". I have a feeling she has done this multiple times and will continue doing this. Beware of this buyer. She is a fraud. |
