Buyer purchased a sealed Apple Macbook. Package was sent and the buyer opened a return immediately saying it was defective. eBay's automated return system generated the label for the customer to return the item. Item was supposed to arrive on Friday 6/16/23. We checked status and noticed the tracking said delivered however we did not receive the package. Further investigation showed it was delivered to a PO box in the same city as our local post office. Our return address is not a PO box. We went to the post office to inquire about the package. The Postmaster could not locate it anywhere in their package pickup area for PO boxes. The postmaster investigated the tracking number and printed out the report regarding the "package". On that report it showed the actual package weight that USPS weighed was only 1oz which is far less than the 5 lb 6 oz package we sent to them making it impossible they actually returned the item. Likely buyer manipulates the return label to show a PO box in the same zip code. USPS delivers to the printed address instead of the address assigned to the tracking number. Buyer places the label on something likely to get thrown away by the PO box recipient so as to not have evidence of the package.
Buyer has done this under several eBay usernames like eki-7273 reported here in 2022 as well as Ellnie_34 |
