Details: | Worst experience I have had as a seller thus far using Poshmark. My partner is having surgery in a week and we just received a few very large bundles of clothing, too much to list beforehand or deal with during her recovery (we mostly handle bags to begin with). We had sold a few ‘reseller boxes,’ noting that NWT items would be included while supplies last, mostly gently used, may have pilling and blemishes, 20 trendy mixed brands, and then also listed examples of brands that may be included. Much more than is usually included in a reseller or mystery box description! This buyer contacts us (after we had sold a few boxes on different platforms and in house) wanting all NWT, saying she loves Free People, but isn’t too picky at this price point...irritating/demanding right off the bat and I should have followed my instinct. I was nice and said we could not accommodate that request, but we could promise the box advertised in the item description and had a few FP NWT pieces to pull from. We were wary at this point and I made sure to say ‘no worries if this is not for you.’ She said she ‘trusted our judgement’ and purchased.
Of course the night she receives the reseller lot (20 pieces for $25.00, approx $34 if you include shipping/tax - still less than $2 a piece) the messages start and the return and the escalation is nothing short of comedic. She says that there is the smell of mold/mildew. Interesting since our items are all laundered, kept in Cotton/canvas and in well ventilated open spaces. Particularly interesting since we vacuumed sealed them in plastic and then put them in a thick polymailer. She also tells us that we sent children’s brands which we didn’t, but it’s an inexpensive reseller lot...and you aren’t picky...This changes of course when she goes for the return telling Poshmark that there is mold and mildew and it is so bad she had to wear gloves and a mask...the accusation that someone sells moldy clothing...this borders on libelous. Again particularly absurd since my partner has asthma and I have a very bad mold allergy. She also changes her tune about the clothing saying that we sent juniors clothing (instead of children’s) stating that we only said women’s. We specifically listed ‘juniors brands’ in the listing. She then posts heavily edited photos. It just continues and she even sends Poshmark a message telling them to snif the clothes. I have never seen such venomous behavior and all because she does not like some of the brands we sent.
Poshmark will side with her of course.
