Details: | Newly created buyer account with 0 feedback (probably a throwaway account) paid buy it now. I shipped to what I learned was a freight forwarding service in Delaware that forwards packages to Russia. As soon as the item arrived at the forwarding service it showed as delivered and the buyer asked to return the item, claimed it didn't work. I declined because I knew the buyer hadn't received the item yet and it would be impossible for them to know that. After two weeks, eBay stepped in and approved the return anyway. Buyer provided a tracking number right away for the "return", once it showed delivered (it wasn't) eBay refunded their money and charged me. I called my post office and learned that the package associated with the tracking number was not addressed to me or my address, apparently the buyer had something shipped to a random address within my zip code and provided that tracking no. When I contacted eBay they said that since the zip codes match and it was marked delivered that they were siding with the buyer. I asked eBay if the tracking number matched what was on the return label they provided the buyer, it did not so they closed the appeal in my favor this time. The buyer then appealed the appeal, claiming that I agree to refund their money and eBay approved it even though that wasn't true. I contacted eBay again and after speaking with four different agents, they finally permanently closed the appeal in my favor due to the buyer using third party shipping for the return. Hope this info helps someone else out there fight back! |

Thanks for the report, I learned a lot. I encounted the exact same scam with the exact same method. I submitted my report as well. https://badbuyerlist.org/buyer/7e900235441d554943f78603
