This person scammed me too! Bought item, wants return, refunded and won't return item!

This guy just scammed me to. Bought a camera sent a different broken on back.

Ian has also just done this to us. Bought a lens, sent back a broken lens. Make sure you keep track of your serial numbers.

He's trying to do the same to me now. I copied this link and sent it to eBay. Thanks guys and gals.

He's trying to scam me as well, claiming that I never responded to his claim when I clearly did.

Posted about 3 years ago by 162.158.X.X Report as SPAM

He's pretty well versed with ebay's return policy and uses it to his advantage. Any item that's listed as "used" is considered by eBay to be in working condition. What he does is buy it then claim that it doesn't work and eBay automatically decides in his favor. By the time you receive it parts have been removed and/or the item has been switched. eBay is allowing this to happen over and over again and should be held just as responsible for this ongoing scam.

I stopped this guy from a scam in progress. This guy way overpaid for my nice used camera on eBay. I packed up and left pkg in my office for USPS pickup later that afternoon. Went home, marked "shipped." Then, on a whim, checked out the buyer and came across all these neg comments. Stopped the USPS pickup! Now unraveling all the complexities of getting eBay to refund the guy's money and keeping me in the clear. Complicated! Yes -- eBay needs to protect honest members from serial scammers who do this kind of thing over and over!

I'm new to selling on eBay and just sold this individual a camera. I hope he doesn't try this on me. He had better hope that he doesn't try this on me.

Sold a camera to this person. I was about to print the label when I came across this website and immediately cancelled lol.

This guy has multiple company listings in the Austin and San Antonio, Texas areas; at least seven different ones. I think he fancies himself as a slick and sly individual, but it will catch up with him one day. He'll be very lucky if it's law enforcement and the court system that does. I've already blocked him as a buyer and will certainly be on guard for him. Fortunately it seems he's limited himself to cameras and related items for his scam operations. One place he lists as a business address is actually a current or possibly former residence. It's at: 1331 South Flores St. Unit 315. San Antonio, TX 78204.

This guys did samething to me today and i luckily found this article!. I am looking for how i could cancel it by myself. Thank you guys. just one question, is this only way to cancel that is 'buyer asked you to cancel'?

Posted over 2 years ago by 100.8.X.X Report as SPAM

^your able to select 3 different options. I'd probably go with something wrong with the buyers address. Best of luck !

Posted over 2 years ago by 2601:807:8102:2bf0:1ce2:5b21:565d:1938..X.X Report as SPAM

^Yes! I chose that one exactly. He ordered with its name 'Chris Underwood' but i should ship to 'Ian LIndstrom' XD what a funny this guy. Thank you very much for replying!

Posted over 2 years ago by 100.8.X.X Report as SPAM

Well, as expected Ian Lindstrom has requested a return claiming that the camera he bought from me doesn't work. I have denied his request and hope for the best. If it's not resolved in my favor with eBay then I'll turn this over to the Postmaster General or Postal Inspector's Office as mail fraud since everything was handled through USPS. Do not sell or ship ANYTHING to Ian Lindstrom on St. Elmo in Austin, Texas.

Posted over 2 years ago by 71.86.X.X Report as SPAM

Please, if anyone that has previously posted about bad buying experiences with Ian Lindstrom would go to the US Postal Service regarding US Mail Fraud and file a complaint it might go a long way in preventing him from repeating this fraudulent behavior. If Ian Lindstrom bid on or directly purchased an item from you through eBay knowing that it was going to be shipped by USPS (that's in the shipping info previous to purchase) and he has a pattern of theft by fraud then he can be stopped. It's as simple as filing a claim. Lets stop this guy!

Sellers who canceled. Did he leave any neg feedback after?

Posted about 2 years ago by 199.18.X.X Report as SPAM

He purchased a camera from me using username southtownacquisitions2. He just requested a return from me and I have automatic returns approved so we shall see what he mails back to me. Any advice as to how I handle it with eBay? Can I show eBay his history of fraud if he sends me back a different/damaged camera?

He just tried to buy Two Cameras from me. Luckily I did a search and came across this article and then cancelled immediately. How does this guy have a 100% Positive feedback? Unreal, I'm so glad I saw this article! Lifesaver!

He was using the user name: southtownacquisitions on ebay when he just purchased 2 cameras from me. How is this guy still allowed on ebay. Please report him when this happens!

Looks like they've rebranded to Cute Camera Co on IG. Continues to defraud ebay sellers southtownacquisitions and southtownacquisitions2

Ho just purchased a camera from me after googling his name I ran into this page. WOW !!!! I. just canceled his eBay purchased and refunded his money !!

Posted almost 2 years ago by 2601:243:2301:5f70:28a0:7fe6:df69:9eef..X.X Report as SPAM

He just requested a return from me. If I didn't actually fully test the cameras I sell, I would have accepted it. Instead I googled his user name. He has been reported to eBay. This guy is currently trying to buy as many items as possible before ebay puts an end to it. I would bet that he focuses on certain cameras that he can swap serial numbers on also. We shall see how ebay handles this one.

Just received an eBay email regarding Spamer Ian Lindstrom he got me also, wanted to have a refund for returning my camera,
or he would accept a partial refund of $40. and he would keep the camera. Sounds like a ripoff

Received an order from this person and it looks like use a different user name on ebay since the other one is no longer a registered user. southtownacquisitions2 is the new name and thanks to this thread I will be cancelling the order.

Posted over 1 year ago by 170.203.X.X Report as SPAM

Thanks everyone, just ordered a 125 dollar camera. I sent him a note and said I will not ship this out unless he responds with ok I agree no returns. I told him to make sure he saw there was a noise it makes. That message was sent before I did some digging and found this website. I don't want to get dinged for a cancellation, but looks like I will take that up with ebay and cancel anyway

Just canceled a Camera purchased from him on ebay after reading all this. He bought it within 1 minute of me listing it. If you look at his thousands of feedback. He has never left any feedback for the seller.

I am currently dealing with an issue concerning him as well. He bought a camera from me under the username "Southtownaquisitions2" I unfortunately did not discover this website until after I had already shipped his item. Of course, about a week after receiving the item he is requesting a return and/or partial refund of 50% of the purchase price. Thankfully, before he requested the return I reported to eBay what he is known for and what will happen. After he requested the return I contacted eBay again. They said I will not be held accountable for this and he will be removed from the platform again. This is at least his 3rd account where he runs this scam. Avoid at all costs.

SELLERS BEWARE! Hopefully you are lucky enough to come across this information before sending out your camera to this individual. User ID either southtownacquisitions or southtownacquisitions2. Previous account was pnytechtronics. Name is Ian Lindstrom from Austin, TX. I contacted E-Bay to share my concerns and inquire on how best to handle the situation without receiving a defect. Wrote to Lindstrom to advise him that the sale would be canceled due to his history of fraudulent returns, then went ahead and cancelled the transaction using "Buyer asked to cancel". Done. Make sure to also report him to E-Bay ... hopefully can get all his accounts shut down.

I owe all of the previous commenters a huge thank you for providing the information they’ve provided as they’ve saved me from potentially getting scammed. I just received an offer from southtownacquisitions2 on a Canon Sure Shot camera on eBay, I was a little suspicious so I decided to google the username with this page coming up in the search results.
