Details: | A month after I had dispatched the item the buyer claimed the item hadn't been received. I was able to provide proof of delivery so ebay closed this case in my favour. A week later the buyer opened a return request saying that the item was damaged. The photos they sent showed damage to the item wasn't consistent with the damage to the packaging (it looked like they had put a sticker on the screen of the watch to show fake damage). Ebay told me that I had to accept the return so I sent a return label and agreed to refund them on receipt of the item. The buyer then sent abusive emails telling me to just refund them. I said that I would once they had returned the item. The buyer then opened a payment dispute with their bank. Even though I was able to show that the item I had sent the buyer was as described and I had agreed to refund them, the bank still decided against me so they refunded they buyer, ebay took the money from my bank account and the seller doesn't have to return the watch. The address this buyer gave was just the street address of the post office. The address on their ebay account is just a PO box. Ebay has decided that I don't qualify for seller protection because they have no way to recover the money from the buyer!! |
