Details: | On Sept 5, 2020, Lori E Doan claimed that a device we shipped to har had a stuck switch. She was unable to follow our directions how to unstuck it and refused to provide evidence that the issue made the device inoperable. Against our T&C, she demanded a refund instead of a replacement. We granted her a refund regardless, on condition she would make the device inoperable by cutting its cables. She then submitted a fake ("photoshopped") photo, where the brush feature was used to paint some of the background over the cables. This is clearly visible due to, among more things: (1) the cables being positioned exactly as if they were still coiled, (2) Some of the background pixels overlapping the fake cable ends, (3) the "cut" cable ends not matching each other. When we told her it was fraudulent "proof", she said she would do a chargeback unless we refunded her. We replied that she would be publicly blacklisted if she would go ahead with her extortion and fraud and she said she could care less. We spent hours, trying to persuade her and warn her but she refused to provide evidence that the device did not work and she said that a "chargeback is not in your interest...". So to avoid a large chargeback fee and possible sanctions by our payment processor, we refunded the thief. |
