Their item was shipped, because items cannot be held after payment is made per eBay's handling time rules so they opened a case - it's a cheap trick to try to get free items. Luckily this item was already in transit, and they could not close the case out with customer service since it was on the way. If you hold items for this person, they will open cases on you to get you to ship the item and win the case.
