Details: | Someone named Rita Elsen messaged me on Facebook marketplace saying they were interested in my laptop. I live in New Brunswick. They did not have a profile picture and the profile did not say they were in Canada. They said they wanted to come see the laptop and asked where I am located, I give them my address and they say they are located in Surrey BC. I said oh that's okay. They said can you ship, I said yeah I would consider it. I said that I would need an e-transfer before I could ship, and they gave me their postal code to get a quote for Fedex. The postal code was V3Z 3V7, I looked it up on Canada Post and it is a large multiple unit building. They seemed concerned with how fast they would receive the laptop, I told them the shipping would be $101, this was no problem to them. I gave them my email for e transfer and asked for their full address. I told them I could ship it when I got home from work, they told me "hit me up once you are home so i can send the money". The way they type sounds like a young man, not someone named Rita. Thank god I googled this postal code and came across this website! This is terrifying and I am so sorry to the people who have lost money. I am now a firm believer of never shipping things like a laptop or expensive items. |
