Details: | The buyer purchased a factory sealed box of Magic: The Gathering Eldritch Moon Boosters from my listing on eBay. Now, after opening all of the booster packs, the buyer claims that the item was not factory sealed and accuses me of being a fraud. He opens a refund claim through eBay and eBay holds the funds in my PayPal account while the case is open and pending. Through research, I have learned this is a classic scam run by buyers through eBay, leaving sellers no choice but to issue a refund. In this case, once I do issue a refund and the item is returned - it will be a non-sealed box with all the boosters opened and any valuable cards removed and replaced with less valuable ones. |

Update: Continued to message me, even admitting that he opened the claim because the box "...didn't have any good cards." eBay still refuses to support me. DO NOT SELL ON eBAY - They are just as culpable as the criminals they support.

Update: I got the box of cards back and, I suspected, nothing was wrong with them. The buyer did strip out any good rares and mythic rares, replacing them with low value cards. I should have gotten back 540 cards. Instead he sent back 580 - he obviously can't count. Also included was a very long-winded, nasty letter full of threats and inane rambling claiming that if I didn't issue him a FULL refund, the wrath of God would descend upon me - as is typical in such scams I have learned. I did issue the full refund, but only because I had the cards in hand. Fortunately, he did leave behind some cards and I have been able to recoup the wholesale cost through the singles market.
