Details: | Buyer requested detailed description of the physical, aesthetic condition for a set of three thermal printers. Detailed photos and a description were provided and the buyer chose to purchase. Nate then decided two of the printers didn't meet his standards and wanted to return them. The items were sold as a lot, and he was told to return the lot - we set the sale up like this intentionally, to avoid someone buying the printers, picking out the one they liked, and returning the other two. Nate wasn't going to be deterred. He opened the return, we approved it, and he only sent back two printers. eBay doesn't allow a partial refund of more than 50% (he should have got a refund of roughly 66%.) This is another reason why we don't do partial refunds. So, we gave him two options - return the third printer for a full refund or close the return and we'll send back the two returned printers. Nate decided on a third option - keeping the printer and getting a full refund through eBay. Nate Parsons committed mail fraud, full stop. I INVITE him to bring a defamation suit against me, since truth is an affirmative defense in a defamation case, and I will make him rue the day printers were invented during the discovery process. I knew from the moment he got persnickity about the exterior condition of the printers that he was going to be an entitled jackass. Unfortunately, eBay doesn't allow you to refuse service without penalizing you - otherwise I would have just cancelled his order and stuck him on the blocked buyer list. Sellers, here's my advice - never offer partial refunds. The only thing you should offer is a refund upon return of the entire order. That way, any deviation is using the mail to defraud. If I really wanted to light Nate up, I could make a complaint with the Houston postal inspectors. As mad as I am, even I don't think anyone should have to be investigated by federal agents for a dispute over $100. But still, screw you, Nate. |
