I sold an iPhone 6s on eBay for a reasonable price. The buyer paid right away. The buyer had 300 positive reviews. I mistaking saw no red flags. I printed shipping label and sent to 8 McCullough Ave New castle Delaware, 19726. HOwever, per the tracking info it was delivered to zip code 19720. Buyer opened case. First eBay customer service representative said to contact post office about where it was delivered. I was told buyer would win case as USPS delivered to wrong address and therefore proof buyer did not receive. I had no insurance on package. I called back again hoping for a different answer. Second customer service representative said they would close case in my favor and refund me money... she either feels bad for me knowing it was a scam or didn’t look at details. She said tracking info says delivered so it could be closed in my favor. However I know buyer can appeal. I am therefore in process of deleting eBay account. The account is temporarily deleted until a final transaction goes through, then it will be permanent. I am hoping they cannot appeal if I disappear from eBay. I currently transferred money into bank account from paypal. I also unlinked PayPal account. I am wondering on a few things

1. Who paid me? Was it the scammer? Or did they hack an innocent third party’s email. I received payment 20 days ago. So I’m thinking a third party is not involved or I would imagine a fraud claim would’ve been filed by now.
2. Can ebay access my paypal account if they are unlinked?
3. Can the scammer appeal a claim against an account that no longer exists?
4. I hate that they have my return address. I’m hoping this is simply a scam and I shouldn’t be further concerned for my safety. My imagination is hopefully getting the best of me.
Wondering if anyone has any thought! I am done with eBay.

Why is the customer a scammer? USPS clearly delivered the iphone to the wrong address...
