The item I did not purchase was deemed a "fake" by an art expert. The Seller offered a guaranty as to authenticity so there was no point in completing the transaction.

Buyer refused to identify this "expert" because he/she doesn't exist - the very definition of a bogus excuse. Buyer also failed to pay for the painting he bought prior to ours on Ebay, from a different seller. He used threats to try to intimidate us into not protesting his unethical behavior. In our view, anyone who claims to authenticate art from photographs, without examining the work in person, and without considering painting's provenance, is a con-artist.

It is interesting that the seller remains anonymous while sullying my reputation. I assure anyone reading this that a qualified expert was consulted before I decided not to complete the transaction.

Anyone at all knowledgeable with the art world today knows that experts are afraid to go on record due to fear of litigation.

You understand that the entire point of having an expert determine if something is real or not is to have them go on record. That's literally the only reason they're experts - to provide recorded statements on authenticity. So, yeah, I'm with the seller - either you didn't have an expert, or your expert was sketch af.
