Details: | The buyer purchased some customized items from my etsy store end July 2016, which was shipped on August 5th 2016, tracking was provided via etsy's shipping notification. Buyer contacted me on Sept 3rd 2016 about not receiving the items. I advised her on the same day to call USPS regarding the whereabouts as that is the fastest way to track the package from Singapore. Sept 5th, 2016, buyer wrote to me to ask for the tracking number (which was already provided for in the shipping notification on Aug 5th 2016). Nonetheless, I gave her the tracking number again. Sept 7, 2016, I took the initiative to contact the buyer to see if she had managed to track the package. The buyer then replied and I assisted her to file an online tracking request with USPS for the whereabouts of the package. Sept 13, 2016, buyer wrote to me as follows:
Thank you"
On the same day, after this reply, the buyer decided to open a case with etsy for non delivery claiming as follows:
Firstly, the buyer lied that I can't do anything when I had done all I could to assist her in tracking the package. Secondly, she had not, in any manner or form, tendered proof that she had received a reply from USPS that the package was being returned as she claimed. It was merely her word that USPS had informed her that. After copious number of exchanges for which if anyone is interested or is having trouble with this particular buyer can contact me for full details and screen shots where she vehemently proclaimed her honesty and her impeccable behaviour, this is what she proceeded to do. Sept 13,2016, she filed a claim that she would like to have the items delivered to her. On or about Sept 21, 2016, the buyer opened a case for non delivery with PAYPAL claiming for a full refund. So she has in effect claimed on etsy she wanted the item and on PAYPAL, she wanted her money back, i.e. she wanted both, items and money from two different sites. When this fact was raised by me on etsy, she decided to claim that despite being on etsy for an alleged 8 years and despite her claim that she has exercised all due diligence, she was somehow unfamiliar with etsy's rules and processes and also that she "no longer wants the items". Please pay special attention to this statement. Etsy's admin demanded that I show photographic proof of shipment, which I did, so the buyer was fully aware of the packaging and how it looks. I also have to state that when I escalated the matter with PAYPAL, PAYPAL decided that due to the unusual circumstances, they would refund the buyer at their own cost, without any deductions on their own. That was Sept 27, 2016. On my part, my post office has informed me via email that the item was never returned by USPS, it was in fact, DELIVERED TO THE BUYER on Sept 29th, 2016 and SHE ACCEPTED ITS DELIVERY. That is after she claimed as such : "I am a special needs teacher in the inner city of Baltimore, I teach in neighborhoods that people do not want to live in or drive through bc I choose too to help children in need. I am not sure of the people that you are used to dealing but I am not a dishonest person. I feel bad that you assume everyone that you deal is trying to “pull a fast one on you”. Fact is, she tried to double dip on her claim, then she actually claimed the package AFTER stating (without proof) that USPS has returned the package to me, and AFTER she received her refund from PAYPAL and AFTER she states in black and white that she no longer wants the items. I'll let the reader decide whether the said person is not a dishonest person" and is not trying to "pull a fast one on you". The facts speak for themselves. Deal with her carefully, if at all. |
