Details: | This eBay user bought a used laptop motherboard from me, paying $48.00 for the item and $7.45 for shipping. Almost a month later, he asks for a return/refund indicating there is something missing from the motherboard. I did not dispute it since I'm not the original owner of the part and didn't know to look for this piece missing (a ribbon retainer clip). I accepted the return through eBay's process and requested the item be returned so the refund would go through. eBay put a refund hold of the total amount ($55.45) pending receipt of the item. The user indicated to me that he actually had to pay extra in shipping to get the item from the FL address provided to me to his actual address in Nicaragua and that I should refund this amount as well. I disagree as that was not money that was paid to me nor was the shipping address outside the US. I contended that I was doing the right thing by refunding exactly what he paid to me. He called me a cheat and a scammer and said I caused him problems with a client he was building a system for. I contacted eBay support and was told everything was fine and he could either ship it back for the refund or not. He chose to keep the product instead of going through with the return. |
