DO NOT SEND GOODS IF THIS NUMBER IS USED. CANCEL THE ORDER IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
Serious organised crime ring. This number is one of several numbers that these scammers use to place fake orders on Amazon. The names and addresses may well be legitimate, however the phone numbers are not. The buyer will go on to dispute that the goods ever arrived or that they are faulty (if you used tracked delivery) Some examples of the phone the scammers use: (Please note I have redacted the extensions of these numbers)
"Phone: +1 929-436-4790 ext. XXXXX"
"Phone: +1 346-307-9643 ext. XXXXX"
"Phone: +1 347-448-3190 ext. XXXXX"
"Phone: +1 314-282-9402 ext. XXXXX"
"Phone: +1 210-728-4548 ext. XXXXX"
This scammer uses only several different numbers but the extension part is different for EVERY order. It is used as a way of identifying each scam.

This is an Amazon generated phone number in order to protect the privacy of ALL buyers. When the number [929-436-4790] is called, you enter the 4-digit extension and will be asked for the destination zip code of the order. Once the destination zip code is entered, you will be directed to the recipient, without ever receiving their actual phone number. Hope this helps!

I just received a small package as well to a different name with a ring in it through China post from Liu Yida, Hai Lin Rd. No city listed and with the same phone #. The customs description shows value is 1 usd. Yes, it is strange.

I just got a random weird package from Walmart with a travel size acne cleanser and with this number on the label. I also had 2 weird charges on my bank account for $0.00 pending so I blocked the card for a few days until the bank opens again on Tuesday and maybe I can get some additional information... I do not have a good feeling about this bs and I know none of us has the time or energy to deal with it these days. I think the scammers are counting on that!

I just received an unordered package today to my previous address with this telephone number containing a small cut throat type razor and razor blades. To say I was a little concerned is an understatement. Listed on the customs label was necklace worth. $.50.

I just received a toy that I never ordered from Walmart. They got my info from Amazon. I reported it to the police and to Walmart. According to a Walmart, this person ordered tons and tons of toys delivered all over the US and are trying to get refunds for toys ‘never received’. Definitely a scam.

What you morons dont know is that its a scam. Your getting all these bullshit items in the mail that you didnt buy, they all have one thing in common. They all have tracking numbers to prove something was delivered to someone. The seller is using or processing stolen credit cards and shipping them to locations in which those credit cards were taken from. When the dispute comes into the seller who shipped the product, he can use that bullshit tracking number to show the item (something) was delivered. Tracking doesnt show what's been delivered by something was delivered to that address.

We received a weird little package with a small charger cable. It does have a tracking number from UPS. Underneath the tracking label the phone number is displayed with an extension number. Also the return address is supposedly from Burlington New Jersey

Thank you for reporting this.... unfortunately we got scammed, the buyer ordered a lighter, we shipped it... he said he wanted to return it because it was old, We do not sell anything that isn't brand new. Long story short, amazon refunded the buyer, and we lost the original lighter and the money. By the way, the name given on amazon was Marco Peña. Please, be aware of this scammer.

Same scammer already ripped us off 3 or 4 times so far. Ordered a valuable item and returned a cheap used item at $300 value less. Each time with different name but same delivery address in Las Vegas.

On attempt #4 from buyer on Amazon, different account (L. Layger and also "700"). Shipped one item (>$100) before I noticed it. Intercepted package and refunded buyer. Buyer has attempted 3 more times to purchase. I continue to cancel all orders. Have reported it to Amazon

Just received an order from "Caleb Keaton" 929-436-4790 to my house with my name on it from Walmart. A picture of Elvis? Definitely not something I would have ever bought myself, and not sure why someone would send to me.

I just received a package with my address with someone else's name on the package. The number
929-436-4790 was listed on the package with an extension number. It's really terrible that seller's are being scammed.

As some have already pointed out, 929-436-4790 seems to be a NY number that Amazon uses to anonymize customers' numbers. Of course scammers can use it like everyone else but then the problem is the scammer not the number. It is important not to confuse one thing with the other!

I also received a suspicious small package with this number on it. Turned out to be a legit Amazon order I placed.

I found that number on an order I'd placed myself. The merchandise was from an outside vendor selling through Amazon. I received it two months ago, and saw no problems. Everything's fine from what I've seen so far.
