Laura Andersen came to our furniture company representing herself as an interior designer and asked for a discount. We did offer a 10% designer discount and she ordered several items from us. Upon receiving the discount she dropped the designer act and even mentioned how she needed to consult with her husband on various specifics about her furniture. Upon receiving her furniture, and sending us an email saying she loves everything, she months later filed a dispute with her credit card company saying that she tried to return the good and we refused. The credit card company refunded her thousands of dollars, and she still has our furniture which we have tried to retrieve and cannot. Afterwards we learned that Laura Andersen currently works for Shopify, and has worked at many other online marketing firms over the years. Laura Andersen has clearly used her knowledge of e-commerce and how to exploit the system to steal from a small local business.
