This buyer agreed to the $6 shipping fee, when he recieved item and saw I paid $3.43 for shipping, he demanded a partial refund or would leave less than positive feedback, (which he has done on other sellers if they charge more than a dollar over actual shipping cost). I gave him a refund to save my rating, but explained that I add fees into shipping and start my bids out low.

Shipping charges are for shipping, I would be mad to if I was charged over 2 for shipping. So if you start your item out low and it sells for a higher amount then what? You do not make up for statrting your items out low in the shipping costs. would'int it be alot better just to add 2 on the starting bid, there you go problem solved. I think the buyer had every right to ask for a partial refund. And he also should have nicked your shipping stars also. I can see maybe .40-.50 cents on each item for tape, bubble wrap, etc. But come on over 2, thats a bit much buddy. And yes I am a seller on ebay. I'm sure many more FAIR sellers on ebay would agree with what I am saying.

I agree, this poster is wrong to seek a profit from shipping. I am a seller too, exclusively, and I never overcharge for shipping. I refund any accidental overcharge before the buyer even gets their item. That's almost double the postage, I'd be peeved too!

^^ Both feelings based opinions. If the fact is that the buyer agreed to $6 shipping, it is irrelevant what the seller paid to ship it. There is a thing called overhead but forget that, the seller stated the shipping cost and is not obligated to offer discounts just because he receives one. He is in business and the goal is to make money. How far do you push this "feelings-based" opinion of the two prior commenters... If a seller, or their supplier, accidentally leaves a wholesale invoice in a package and the end user sees that the seller made 30 points margin on the sale should the buyer be able to extort a partial refund because they "feel" that the seller made too much money? The buyer IS A BAD BUYER because they agreed to pay then decided they shouldn't have to so they practiced feedback extortion to get their way like a child with a temper tantrum.
