Item was listed with 9 pictures detailing the condition from every angle. eBay clearly showed Returns: Seller does not accept returns. Item was same day and arrived the next day. Immediately after arriving, I get a message from the buyer wanting to return it because there is a mark on the right side of the screen. The listing clearly indicated that there was minor cosmetic damage to the laptop, and the buyer later admitted to me in messages that he did see this in the pictures of the listing. I offered to give a partial refund if he wanted to keep it, but I can only accept returns if the item is dead on arrival. Shortly after, he submits a return request saying the screen is defective and he would like a refund. I informed him that since there is nothing functionally wrong with the laptop, there would be a 20% restocking fee to cover the $40 I spend on overnight shipping. He tries to argue that I should waive the 20% fee because it "is more than a "purely cosmetic" effect. It is functional as well... it interferes with me seeing what is underneath that area of the screen when the laptop is turned on. Things appear fuzzy and hazy." Keep in mind that this is a rub mark on the far right side of the screen because the laptop has a touchscreen that is meant to be used with a stylus. The rub mark is directly under the scroll bar, hence the high amount of wear in that area. Nothing under there is obstructed except the scroll bar. eBay now requires that I give a 100% refund and pay return shipping because they always side with the buyer. Am awaiting the returned item still, but fully expect it to be damaged in retaliation. Buyer was reported to eBay for fraudulent abuse of the return system.

Looking through his feedback history, this is not an isolated incident. He has left poor feedback on other sellers as well, along the lines of "Item did not appear new. Returned. Only received partial refund. :(" on an item that was listed as used, "Very poorly packaged, screen damaged, will keep for parts. Thanks a lot buddy!" getting an item for free because of some light damage, "Seller backed out of me getting the item for $0.01. Stay away from!!!!!!!!!" Another seller had a response, after he returned an item after damaging it: "promised refund several times for dead drone battery, and never gave it."

This buyer clearly thinks it is his prerogative to take advantage of the eBay system however he can.I would avoid him at all costs. I will be working with eBay to get a ding on his account.
