Buyer did a switcharoo.

Buyer bought a manga from our store on 3/18. He opened a INAD return several days later. In his reason he stated that the manga was stapled on the left side instead of the right (as manga traditionally are). Clearly it could be seen in our listing pictures that the manga was stapled on the correct side. In his reason, he made sure to state that he is sure that the seller didn't do this on purpose and probably didn't realize or has multiples of the same comic (To cover the fact that the pictures don't reflect what he is saying). He also stated that he already had a replacement and just wanted to exchange the comic (his exact wording).
Well this manga is from our personal collection and we knew the pictures he sent in the return notification were not the manga we sent him.
After some snooping on his feedback we see where he recently bought a lot of the same manga with that issue in it, and guess what? It was stapled incorrectly. So, we messaged the buyer and giving him the benefit of the doubt, asked him to make sure he had the right seller and sent pictures of our listing with the staples circled showing them on the correct side. Of course buyer doubled down. So we accepted the return, because as we all know you don't have much choice with ebay. While we waited for the manga to come back, we contacted eBay for Business on Facebook and told them the situation. After receiving it today, we took pictures and immediately contacted eBay for Business again. Agent we spoke to on ebay obviously couldn't give any information out about the buyer but they did side with us! They did issue him a refund from their pockets unfortunately. Agent did say they were making note of what the buyer did, so hopefully he will eventually get banned.
